The Boca Museum of Art
American Impressionism: Works from the Bank of America Collection - 5/9-6/22 - This exhibition of paintings presents more than 60 works by many of the best-known American Impressionists. American Impressionism was a movement deeply rooted in the nation's landscape tradition. The exhibition traces the stylistic evolution of landscape painting as well as the changing attitude toward nature in the nineteenth century. The Bank of America Collection is one of the largest and most significant corporate art collections in the world. As part of this porgram, Bank of America covers many of the costs associated with staging the exhibition, providing an economic benefit to the borrowing museums and the communities they serve.
In the Eye of the Beholder: Selections from the Art Galleries at Gallery Center - 5/9 - 6/22 - The painter Maurice de Viaminck once said, "Good art is like cooking: it can be tasted, but not explained.: In the Eye of the Beholder is intended to increase the visitor's pleasure in "tasting" a variety of outstanding historical, modern and contemporary works, which reflect a broad range of styles and mediums. The Museum has worked with six art galleried at Gallery Center in Boca Raton - the Elaine Baker Gallery, Gallery Camino Real, Griffin Gallery, Habitat Galleries, Karen Lynne Gallery, and Rosenbaum Contemporary. This selection brings a useful perspective on the relationships between art museums, galleries, and their audiences, revealing how the boundaries between museums and galleries that shape and preserve our collective heritage are blurring.

Alexander Calder Jewelry - 4/1- 6/15 - 561-832-5196 -Norton Museum of Art -1451 South Olive Avenue; West Palm Beach, FL 33401 -The art of Alexander Calder has been celebrated and examined at some length in numerous exhibitions. However, his work in the field of jewelry is not as known, since it has been a small component in his large survey exhibitions. The jewelry's three-dimensional aspects have been hammered, shaped, chiseled and composed piece by piece, in a fashion that precisely echoes the artist's creativity. This exhibit will consist of one hundred objects necklace, bracelets, pins, earrings, and crowns.

Class: Family and Friends CPR - Wed, 6/4 6 pm- 8:30 pm - Boca Raton Community Hospital - 800 Meadows Road, Boca Raton FL 33486 - (561) 955-4468 - This course is intended for people with limited or no medical training who want to learn more about CPR. It provides instruction in adult/child/infant CPR and giving first aid for choking. Students also learn about using barrier devices in CPR. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction. The class will be held in classroom B at the Education Center, located at 800 Meadows Road in Boca Raton. It will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Breast Cancer Support Group - Fridays, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - (561) 955-7100 - Boca Raton Community Hospital - 800 Meadows Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486 - This group focuses on discussion of concerns during treatment, recurrence, experimental treatments, and coping skills. Meetings take place every Friday between 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. in Classroom C at the Education Center, located at 800 Meadows Road in Boca Raton.
